Environmental art can be viewed, for instance, in underpasses and traffic circles all around Vantaa. Tuuli Helve's work "Virtapaikka" (2010) is situated in the underpass at Valkoisenlähteentie in Tikkurila.

Vantaa Art Museum is responsible for acquiring public art works in Vantaa. Outdoor sculptures and environmental art pieces are the most visible elements of the city's art collection.

The city of Vantaa was for years the pioneer of the percent for art program. After year 2003, the percent for art has been considered case-specifically. The percent for art means that some percentage of the construction costs of public buildings are reserved for acquisition of artwork.
