Daycare centers’, schools’, high schools’ and Varia’s face-mask recommendation ends after fall vacation
Elementary-school 6th-graders and older schoolchildren and students’ general face-mask recommendation at schools and educational institutions will end as of October 25, 2021. This guideline is compliant with the Ministry of Education and Culture and the National Institute for Health and Welfare's (THL) national recommendation. At the same time, the recommendation for the staff of early childhood education, schools, and educational institutions is also removed.
However, the recommendation to wear a face mask in accordance with the face-mask recommendation given for the entire metropolitan area still remains. A person who does not have full immunization or who has not had coronavirus disease less than six months ago should always wear a face mask indoors. Another recommendation is that everybody wear a face mask indoors whenever there are a lot of people present, for examples, in big meetings.
On-the-spot PTA meetings can be arranged at daycare centers, elementary schools, high schools, and Vantaa Vocational College Varia. They will, nevertheless, utilize a hybrid model, according to which participants can join the events by remote access. On-site events will always account for the coronavirus hygiene requirements compliant with the Communicable Diseases Act.
In early childhood education, guardians may come indoors when bringing and fetching their children. Unnecessary stay on daycare center premises shall still be avoided, as stated in the guideline.
Children may not come to a daycare center, school or educational institution when sick; they must stay at home.
Extra cleaning of premises will be continued in daycare centers, schools, and educational institutions, compliant with the Ministry of Education and Culture and THL's recommendations. Teachers and educators are responsible for intermediary cleaning of shared tools.
Vantaa will closely follow potential changes in the national coronavirus outlines, and we will change our instructions correspondingly, as required.
