Rehabilitation and Therapy

Rehabilitation services aim to improve and sustain the customer’s functional abilities, independence, and participation. The customer always takes actively part in the rehabilitation process and its planning.

Vantaa’s basic health care rehabilitation services consist of speech, nutritional, occupational and physiotherapy, technical aids services, and rehabilitation for veterans.

In addition, we are responsible for hearing tests and vision care.

  • Guidance and counseling
  • Therapy and guidance appointments
  • Group-form rehabilitation
  • Remote consultation and therapy
  • Assessing the need for housing alteration work and technical aids
  • Rehabilitation assessments of KELA or insurance company customers with severe disabilities, unless their care is the responsibility of specialized care.
  • Expert services (e.g., education and consultation services).

Appointment service

Therapy services by appointment only. The appointment phone numbers are to be found on the services’ own websites.

The customers shall always themselves contact the appointment service.

Cancel your appointment by calling the therapist’s phone number / leaving a message on the answerphone.

Topical in rehabilitation services

Rehabilitation services function under exceptional circumstances

Rehabilitation services function normally also under exceptional circumstances. If you have respiratory symptoms or are quarantined or do not wish to come to the appointment, contact the appointment service and inquire about options. On a case-specific basis, an appointment can be changed into a remote appointment, for instance, through video or phone.

Speech therapy services will continue also under exceptional circumstances. We have had to cancel some appointments or change them into remote contacts. We will inform the customers of all changes by text message or by calling them. You can discuss alterative services with your speech therapist.

Bulletin for service providers, July 21, 2020

Service providers’ feedback shall be mailed to Medical Rehabilitation Office. The service providers’ feedback will be scanned into the patient information system. Service providers must always instruct their customers to contact Therapy Services’ appointment service, if continuation of rehabilitation is applied for.
